about

Sonically take a trip through Dent village, Sedbergh through use on location field recordings and audio processing inspired by soundscape composers such as Truax and Westerkamp. Through use of blending abstract sound with natural the piece highlights and augments sonic characteristics present in the village.

The setting begins in the village centre outside the pub, each trickle of rain can be heard from the drain pipes around. This sound of rain transforms into cows eating hay in the nearby barn. The piece then moves onto explore the "Dancing Flags', a collection of large and small waterfalls located south up the Flintergill trail. The church bells transport the listener back to the village centre where the nightlife can be heard. The windy gusts in the night are heard from inside of the 12th century church, finally bird song then introduces the Sunday morning church bells from the short walkway that leads into the church yard.
